ISU Ext. to hold summer camps
Iowa State University Extention will be offering a variety of Summer Camps for the 2021 season starting in June.
Any youth in Tama County is eligible for the camps.
Summer Camps:
Babysitting Basics
Learn skills to care for infants/young children, develop an activity bag and learn how to handle emergencies and more.
Friday, June 4
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Grades completed 5-12
Registration due by May 26
Mother Son Fishing
Mom, aunt, grandma bring your boys to a free fishing event. Time to connect with your boys to a free fishing event. Fishing poles and worms will be provided as well as help as needed.

Otter Creek Lake, Toledo

Real Money, Real World
Taxes come out of my pay? I have to buy insurance? This program helps youth learn how to make financial decisions.
Monday, June 7
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Peace United Church of Christ, Gladbrook
Grades completed: 8-12
4th-6th grade Camp
Join 4th-6th graders from four counties including Grundy, Marshall, Hardin and Tama for games, nature, crafts and more.
Saturday, June 12
9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Union Grove Lake, Gladbrook
Grades completed: 4-6
Registration due May 26
Critter Camp
Tama County Naturalist and 4-H team up with stories, games, crafts, snacks, meet a critter and learn about the great outdoors.
June 15, 16 and 17
Otter Creek Lake, Toledo
Grades completed: K-3
Fishing Camp
Learn the basics of fishing, laws, types of fish, lures, bait, knot tying. There will also be time for fishing.
Wednesday, June 30
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Grades completed: 3-6
There is a fee associated with some of the camps. The fees for service will be used to offset direct expenses of the program.
