BUSSEY — Keagan Giesking scored on the Gladbrook-Reinbeck football team’s first three plays from scrimmage as the Rebels rambled past Twin Cedars 62-0 in Friday’s 8-Man District 5 contest. Gladbrook-Reinbeck (5-2, 5-0) dashed out to a 40-0 lead through the first quarter, scoring five touchdowns on just seven plays. Giesking scored on his first three runs of 48, 42 and 27 yards, Eli Thede reached paydirt from 9 yards out to cap a three-play drive, and Aidan Wyatt found the end zone from 13 yards away to make it 40-0 Rebels with 3:21 left to play in the first quarter. Braydon Rohrer, Drake Blakesley and Will Kiburis each added touchdown runs in the second quarter as Gladbrook-Reinbeck led 62-0 at the half. The Rebels rushed 27 times for 280 yards and all eight touchdowns. Giesking had only one other carry, which went for 36 yards, as he totaled four rushes for 154 yards. The Rebels outgained Twin Cedars 280-45. Twin Cedars had as many first downs as turnovers (four). Gladbrook-Reinbeck hosts AGWSR (6-1, 5-0) on Friday in Gladbrook in the game to determine the district championship.
