GARWIN — The GMG football team was limited to 102 yards of total offense in surrendering Hudson’s first win of the season, a 38-0 loss in Friday’s Class A District 7 opener for both teams. Hudson (1-3, 1-0) rushed for 348 yards and all five of its touchdowns, led by Joe Culham’s 21 carries for 141 yards and one score. Payton Stuart added 13 carries for 113 yards and two TDs as the Pirates averaged 7.4 yards per carry and compiled 408 yards of total offense. Justin Savadty led GMG with four carries for 37 yards, while Noah Ratliff added 20 yards rushing. Quarterback Adam Cox completed 5-of-7 passes for 48 yards, connecting twice with Avery Bryant for a team-high 27 yards. Brayden Anderson added a 13-yard grab. GMG goes out on the road for its next two games against a pair of ranked district foes in Wapsie Valley and Grundy Center.
