Iowa Author at Reinbeck Public Library
The Reinbeck Public Library, in partnership with Westview Estates, will be hosting a talk by Iowa author Karl Schaper. We will meet at Westview Estates, 1013 2nd St. Reinbeck, on Friday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m.
Karl has obtained a large map of Europe and will be able to point out the real places he refers to in his book and places he grew up. This German immigrant, now a United States citizen from Nora Springs, Iowa, will talk briefly about his time as a teenager in Germany during the Hitler domination, WW II, and the Iron Curtain. The program will focus more on lighthearted stories about his impressions and experiences in coming to America and to IOWA in 1957. Karl wrote a book about a character in his own image; a tale written to be enjoyed by teens as well as adults. His novel, “The Three Towers of Home” will also be available for sale and autographing following the program. For those who have read his book, he will gladly answer questions in regards to this historical fiction.
