20th Annual Miracle on Main Happening Next Week

On Friday, November 9, Reinbeck’s Main Street will be buzzing with the sights and sounds of Miracle on Main! This year is especially exciting as it is our community’s 20th annual celebration. That’s TWENTY YEARS of Miracles! Our generous sponsors (our local businesses) along with our miracle-working committee have an extra-special celebration planned for you this year. Your favorite activities are all back, and there are some new sights, sounds, snacks and sips to enjoy as well! If you can’t wait until November 9, the miracles start early this year! Commemorative “20 Years of Miracles” ornaments are available for purchase at LSB now ($10 suggested donation). Also, starting November 1 through the night of Miracle, join in the “Believe in the Miracle” Scavenger Hunt on and around Main Street! Pick up/drop off your scavenger hunt form at Trunck’s or Wildflower. Find the Miracle signs around town and turn in your completed form by 8pm on November 9 for a chance to win $20 in Reinbeck bucks! Continue the countdown to Miracle and make sure you’re ready to take in all Main Street has to offer! Our businesses will be buzzing with open houses and prize drawings all evening long, as well as some food and drink specials. Thirteen Bricks (in the former location of Northey’s Bar & Grill) will be opening that night – what a perfect evening to experience all the options Reinbeck has to offer! If you’re strolling down the street, find something around every corner, including the blast from the past ice sculpture! Stop by Bill Davis Park for some “roasting and toasting” and enter for your chance to win a handmade fire pit. Try your hand at some Reindeer Games and guess which square will hold the reindeer’s “deposit,” or take a ride on the horse-drawn trolley. Try out the Reinbeck Park Board’s mini golf hole to win a tshirt, and keep your eye out for our “cookie walkers” in traditional costume – they have a treat for you! If you’re a kid, or a kid at heart, your first stop should be at Children’s Storytime with Mrs. Claus, hosted by the Fire Station at 5pm! Be sure to make your way to Kid Central at the Memorial Building for crafts and carnival games, a Lego building station, cookie decorating, and letters to Santa from 5-8. The big man himself will be arriving around 5:30, so make sure to get a Santa ticket and wait for your turn to tell him your wish list. Don’t forget to bring a camera for photos! Santa isn’t the only visitor to Miracle on Main you’ll want your picture with, though! Find our special guests, Ana and Elsa, and take a beautiful photo. Be sure to spot our “wandering elves,” ask them their name and see if you can get a sELFie with each one. There may even be a real life Elf on the Shelf! Take a look at Snapchat for the exclusive Miracle on Main filter as well. If music is your “jam,” be sure to have a listen on Main Street where Kylie Jean and Allie will be performing for the third consecutive year. Inside Lincoln Savings Bank at the Christmas Tree Walk, you’ll be able to enjoy the decorated trees, the Memory Tree and soothing holiday music by Josh and Yady Allen. 5th through 8th graders have a few activities catered just to them at Miracle, a beanbag tournament hosted by Cooley Sanitation and a Dance/Fun Night at the G-R Elementary later on in the evening! Proceeds from the dance will be given to Operation Warm Kid, providing winter gear for local children in need. We’re hoping for fantastic weather for our 20th celebration, but if it’s a little chilly, fear not! The Soup Supper hosted by the UCC and sponsored by LSB will be serving up steaming bowls starting at 5:00. Swing by the Fire Station for some hot chocolate to warm your hands, and don’t forget to enjoy one (or more) of Iowa’s finest wines at our six wine tastings! Get ready to search for 20 bags FULL of prizes in our second annual Miracle Drop. Find picture clues hinting at the location of the Miracle Drops on our Facebook page, and be the first one to find the drop to win what’s inside! 20 Years of Miracles means 20 drops throughout the evening…that’s a chance to win every 10-15 minutes! If all these holiday happenings have you hankering to help out, WE HAVE A SPOT FOR YOU! The Miracle on Main committee is still looking for volunteers for various jobs throughout the evening, especially craft helpers at Kid Central! Contact us on the Miracle on Main Facebook page if you’re interested in being part of the evening as a volunteer! We hope you’ll join us for our very special 20th year of Miracle on Main! Look for a detailed around town SOON. Circle Friday, November 9 on your calendar and make plans to join us in Reinbeck for a fun-filled night for the entire family – celebrating 20 years of Miracles!
