JV Rebel Football by Coach Mike Bengen

It was a buggy Monday at Janesville when we travelled north to take on the Wildcats on their home field. It was actually a very nice, fall evening except for the bugs and our play. We were not focused or motivated to do much of anything as we were crushed 52-0. Not a whole lot to say on this one as the Wildcats scored every possible way. We did not tackle, block, or execute much of anything. We ended with 134 total yards and an amazing low number of tackles – 16, for the game. Janesville completely had their way with us. We need to learn and move forward and get better following this humbling experience. These guys will respond. Tom Smith finished with 53 yards rushing to go with 55 yards passing. Drake Blakesley added 15 yards rushing and Braydon Rohrer had 11 yards on the ground to get our 134 total yards. Drake, Zane Stice, Ethan, and Braydon also had receiving yards. Defensively our few tackles were made by Cody Gebel, Tom, Drake, Ethan, Danny Gleissner, Cole Engel, Ian White, Braden Vanderkolk, Braydon, and Auston Wittgreve. Our next action will be Monday October 1 when we will travel to Rockford for a contest against a Corn Bowl conference foe. This game will also begin around 6:30 pm following the junior high contest. On Monday October 8 we play host to the Cougars from AGWSR for our season finale. Come out and catch the Rebels of the future. Hope to see you on the sidelines cheering these young men on.
