The GMG Volleyball girls weren’t quite prepared for Valley Lutheran on Thursday, September 10, 2015. The girls underestimated the skill level of the away team. They expected a clean sweep against Crusaders but instead went 0-3. The first set went 18-25 forcing the girls to step up their game. Coach Bauder was livid at the final score. After a short pep talk from him, the girls were ready to tackle the second set. The girls fought hard with a come back from 23-17. The girls scored 6 more points but lost the serve and game point. The ending score of the second set was 23-25. The third set was close the entire time. The girls were determined to take the Crusaders to the 5th set. We lost serve with the score of 23-23, giving them the lead with 24 points. They served at us and we rallied for a few minutes but a crucial overhead pass cost the GMG Wolverines the game. The score was close but not the out come Bauder and the Wolverines wanted. It was a set back on the girls’ progress, but the ladies worked through it and had an epic battle at the tournament the following Saturday.
