GARWIN – The GMG football team ended a 12-game losing skid after defeating North Tama 22-16 on Friday night. The Wolverines had a 20-16 lead heading into halftime and then forced a safety in the third quarter. Brock Baldazo led GMG with 161 rushing yards on 20 carries and three touchdowns. Quarterback Jacob Burt ran for 26 yards on 12 carries and went 0-for-3 passing with an interception. Garret Groth led the Wolverines defensively with six tackles. Blaze Krull and Jacob Burt each pulled down an interception. GMG (1-1) will begin Class A District 7 action on Friday as they host ninth-ranked Montezuma.
