“Rebels Defeat Pirates” The Rebels hosted the Pirates from Hudson on a cold night on January 9, 2015. With only one practice in three weeks it was to be an interesting evening. The game started with the Rebels giving up 8 points early to a taller line-up. After a quick time out the Rebels pressured the ball on defense and trailed at the end of the first quarter 8-5. Continuing on in the second period the Rebels found a groove on offense while still keeping the pressure on the defensive side. The Rebels took a short 11-10 lead before trailing at the half with a 19-15 deficit. Beginning third quarter action, the Rebels came out with determination and turned up the intensity and shut down the Pirates for the quarter taking a 28-19 lead going in to the final stanza. With momentum in the Rebels favor they continued to look for the good shot while still applying intensive defense. All player whether or not they scored contributed in a big way en-route to a 39-25 victory. This was probably our best game of the season and hopefully more to come.
