The 7th grade boys basketball team traveled to Gilman, Iowa on January 20, 2014 to take on the Mustangs of East Marshall. For the first time this season, they came away victorious with a 31-22 win. The Rebels started out quick applying pressure defense and allowing the opponents to turn the ball over resulting in high percentage shots. The score stood at 11-12 in favor of the Rebels, second quarter action saw both teams finding the bottom of the net as “G-R nine” took a 21-14 lead in to the half time break. Maintaining our intensity and execution was the plan coming out of the locker room for the third quarter, although the Rebels scored only two points. We held the opponents to 3 points while maintaining a 23-17 lead with a determined bunch of Rebels they were not going to be denied on this night for the victory. With determination and enthusiasm the Rebels found the win column for the first time with 31-22 victory.
