Fresh-Soph Rebel Football By: Coach Mike Bengen

It was Tuesday October 22 and we were all set to take on the Wolverines from Dike New Hartford. The problem we had was Mother Nature decided not to cooperate and she decided to drop some snow and rain and frigid temperatures which caused us to cancel our last game. It was the consensus of both schools that this would probably be a miserable night for fans, players, coaches, and the field. We always hate to lose a game and this was no different. It was just a bad situation with the weather. Our year finished off very successful as the JV finished 5-1 and the Fresh-Soph 4-0. These kids worked hard all year and improved every time they took the field. We could not be more proud of how this group got better and how hard they worked at it. These kids all made huge strides this year towards the next level. I have to commend all of your parents on what fine young men you have brought up. This is a great group of kids and with some solid off season work; these guys will be a force to be reckoned with throughout our District in the years to come. We talk a lot about championship football and the off season is just as important, if not more important than the regular season. We need ALL of these guys to be in the weight room working on their strength and conditioning. We have a special group of kids and with some effort; very good things are in the future. Congratulations to all of you players and parents on such a fine year. Keep working hard to achieve our goals. I want to thank Skyler Trunck and Dillan Trunck for all that they do with these kids. These two have worked very well together and with me to create a very good football team. These two along with Brett Bengen, Sean Babinat, Chad Bixby, Darren Trunck, and John Olson make up one of the best football staffs around. I could not be happier being involved with this group of coaches. I believe no one will out work this group day in and day out in practice, preparing for games, and game time. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of this and I thank all of them. Lastly I want to thank all of the fans and people that have helped make our games go off without a hitch. Parents and fans follow us all over and they are there with their support for our players. You guys are the best fans around. I am not going to try and name all of the people that have helped with the clock, the chain gang, and announcing because I know I would miss someone. Thank you all for your help with everything and I promise you it does not go unnoticed. Thanks again to all. The Rebel faithful is the best with their support of our kids and their willingness to chip in and help. Rebel football is on the rise and thank you to all involved.
