Friday, Jan. 4th, G-R 8th grade Boys Basketball traveled north to New Hartford and G-R lost the game 40-22, 3-2 on season as we lost for second time in as many games, against the same team Dike- N.H., as just before Christmas break we played them in Gladbrook and we suffered our 1st loss of the season to them. Unfortunately we had to play them in back to back games. We were hoping to revenge that lost but with only one practice, and us not being able to shut down their two best players who accounted for 31 of their teams 41 points. It was not going to happen. Leading the Rebels were much more balanced scoring than our earlier game with them, as Joe Smoldt had 9 pts, Thomas Mussig 5 pts, Matt Roeding 4 pts, Jedd Peterson 3 pts, Tyler Pierce 1 pt. I’m sure we will bounce back as our upcoming schedule is, Jan 8th at Gladbrook vs W. Marshall, Jan 10th at Gladbrook vs AGWSR, Jan 14 at Grundy Center, Jan 15th at Union, Jan 17th at Radcliffe, Jan 22 at Gladbrook vs. East Marshall, our final game is Jan 28th at Gladbrook vs. A-P, with starting time of 4:15p.m. for 8th graders, and 7th grade boys game to follow.
