Favorite high school memory: When the ball was coming to me in P.E, I was so excited that I was actually going to catch it. I was so excited that when I caught it, I drooled on the ball. Luckily nobody really noticed but what was so funny was that five minutes later Eric Stoakes asked why the ball was wet…

My best G-R accomplishment: Being the Master of Ceremonies for the Jazz Show in 2015 and 2016.

Things you will miss about G-R: I will miss all of the people. What makes G-R so special is knowing that the whole community cares for you. The staff is so friendly and treats you with respect, even when sometimes you don’t deserve it. G-R gave me so many opportunities. I love being a part of a small school, but G-R is one of a kind. You won’t find any other small school that gives you all of these wonderful experiences.

Your role model and why: My role model is Ellen Johanns. She taught me everything I know about how to speak effectively. She has helped me see my God-given talent for acting and giving speeches, and I can’t thank her enough for that. I wouldn’t have decided to go into a career that deals a lot with talking efficiently without her. She also gave us the best advice, “Don’t suck, don’t embarrass me.” She also taught us a very important life lesson: “Never join the ninja circle.”

Advice to underclassmen: Within your first two years, join any extracurricular activity/sport that interests you. Don’t wait till your senior year because you might regret not doing it sooner. But most importantly, do what you love. High school is fun and don’t let anyone or anything get in your way.

Future plans: I plan on going to North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City and study either Communication or Public Relations.
