Alpha Study

The February meeting of the Alpha Study Club took place at Spanky’s on February 25th. The hostess was Shirley Young who decorated the tables in a St. Patrick’s Day theme. President Pat Clausen called the meeting to order with a quote by George Bernard Shaw. Roll call was answered by sixteen members. The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were read. There was no correspondence. The changes in the Alpha Constituion are a work in progress. Under Old Business, Sue Storjohann reported that she took a balloon bouquet to the library for Valentine’s Day for the librarians to enjoy. Since there was no New Business, Pat closed the meeting with another quote by George Bernard Shaw. Pauline Flamme reviewed the book “The Impossible First” by Colin O’Brady. Colin O’Brady is a world record holding explorer and one of the world’s best endurance athletes. Colin is regarded as a foremost expert in mindset and a highly sought after keynote speaker. He isn’t your typical athlete despite his unmatched athletic accomplishment——a world first solo crossing of Antarctica and a world first row across the Drake Passage, summitting Mt. Everest and setting prestigious mountaineering world records—-and he has done it all after overcoming a devastating accident to prove anything is possible. After the review, a St. Patrick’s Day dessert was served along with nuts, candy, coffee and tea.
