Raffle winners
Raffle ticket winners were drawn at a recent meeting in Conrad, Iowa of the Forty & Eight veterans’ organization. For the past year, raffle tickets were sold throughout Grundy County to raise money to be used to finance nurse’s scholarships. The Grand Prize winner is Jeff Ulch of Clemons, Iowa. He won his choice of $500 in cash or a meat bundle of equal value at Fareway Foods in Iowa Falls. The Second place winner is Tammy Janssen of Ackley, Iowa. She won $100 in cash.
La Societe des Quarante Hommes at Huit Chevaux is an independent, by invitation, honor organization of male and female U. S. veterans, more commonly known as the Forty & Eight. The Forty & Eight is committed to charitable and patriotic aims. Our purpose is to uphold and defend the United States Constitution, to promote the well being of veterans and their widows and orphans, and to actively participate in selected charitable endeavors, which include programs that promote child welfare and nurse’s training.
