Windbreak educational program to be held in Grundy County June 16
ISU Extension State Forester Jesse Randall will be at the Hommel Farm in Grundy County on June 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until noon to present a hands-on walk through of an existing windbreak and to provide education on new and old windbreak issues. Class is open to the public and all are invited to join. The Hommel Farm is located at 26602 F Avenue, Eldora.
This program is devoted to educating landowners on the value of windbreaks, how to design and select trees for a new windbreak, how to plant and maintain trees, what to look for in old windbreaks in terms of disease and insects and cost share programs available to help with new windbreaks. Participants are encouraged to bring photos and samples to have their questions answered on site.
