4H youth summer assistant hired
Grundy County Extension & Outreach is excited to announce the hiring of our 2016 4-H & Youth Summer Assistant, Becca Steckelberg.
Steckelberg is a native of Conrad and grew up at the Grundy County Fair in 4-H. In May Becca completed her freshman year at Iowa State University where she is majoring in Agricultural Education Teacher Certification Option. Becca brings to the office experience with Grundy County youth programming as well as her experiences at Iowa State.
Steckelberg says, “I am very passionate about 4-H and showing kids of all ages the wonderful opportunities and experiences that it can bring you. In this position I hope to be a person that helps provide a positive, family oriented atmosphere that demonstrates how wonderful being involved in 4-H and agriculture can be.”
The Grundy County Extension & Outreach office provides opportunities for youth and adults alike in programming areas spanning from families and nutrition, agriculture, science and technology, business development and much more. For youth the office provides not only opportunities to get involved in 4-H, but also several other day camps during the summer for all youth who are interested in joining us as well as partnering with local businesses such as the library and main street to provide education based activities.
