Tama County 4-H clubs collect pull tabs for Ronald McDonald House

Tama County 4-H Clubs are competing this year to pull the most tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. In 2014, 16.2 pull tabs were collected at the Des Moines Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House sells the pull tabs for scrap and earns anywhere from $5,000-$6,000 each year. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for families who have critically-ill children in area hospitals. The proceeds from the pull tables are used for the operational expenses of the house.

Tama County 4-H Clubs are collecting pull tabs from now until the 2016 Tama County Fair July 19-24. All pull tabs must be collected by Friday, July 22 when the tabs will be weighed and the club winner announced that evening at the Tama County Fair Fun Night.

Community members are invited to collect pull tabs and donate to the club of your choice. You may bring them to the Tama County Extension Office at 203 West High Street in Toledo during office hours 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m. Keep pulling for the Ronald McDonald House.
