Tama County STEM festival

Families are invited to attend the Tama County Family STEM Festival on Sunday, April 3 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the South Tama County Elementary School in Tama. The festival is free and open to the public.

The goals of the festival are to promote, inspire and engage youth in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities and to introduce children and parents to STEM careers in their local communities.

More than 25 exhibits will feature hands-on, interactive STEM activities for K-6th grade students and their families but all ages are welcome to attend. Attendees can ride an energy bike, drive a robot, visit STEM learning lab, conduct amazing science experiments, explore the healthcare field and much more!

The Tama County Family STEM Festival is a community-wide partnership led by Northeast Iowa Region Governor’s STEM Advisory Council at the University of Northern Iowa, South Central Iowa Region Governor’s STEM Advisory Council at Drake University, as well as AEA 267, Tama County Conservation Board, South Tama, North Tama, Union, Meskwaki, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, GMG, and Belle Plaine Community Schools.
