Reinbeck native publishes hormone based fitness book

Debra Atkinson, formerly Bachman, just authored You Still Got It, Girl! The After 50 Fitness Formula For Women. The book was launched at the International Council on Active Aging in New Orleans in November where Atkinson, a frequent motivational speaker presented several sessions.

The first hormone-based exercise prescription book, You Still Got It, Girl! features an integrated approach to nutrition, exercise and four other lifestyle factors that impact hormone health.

“Once the rules have changed, the strategies that used to work won’t,” Atkinson said.

Female Baby Boomers, all 38 million of them, are seeking answers to problems and changing the way personal exercise programs are delivered.

“The typical jump on the treadmill and slash calories approach sends a woman further from her goals and closer to adrenal fatigue. Once adrenal fatigue and hormone disruption happen, fat loss and weight management are impossible feats,” said Atkinson. The good news is that you can reverse the situation.

The integrative book authored by Atkinson was published by Healthy Learning. The back of the book is filled with documents used in online courses and private coaching sessions. Eight internationally known experts, including some New York Times Best Selling authors, contributed to the book as featured experts.

Debra Atkinson is a Reinbeck native and 1982 graduate of Reinbeck High. She is the daughter of Ruth (and Don) Palmer and currently resides in Boulder, Colo.
