Author visits Hampton Library

Linda Betsinger McCann will be speaking at the Hampton Library on Monday, December 14, at 2 p.m. She will be signing books until 3:30 p.m. that date. There is no admission charge and everyone is welcome.

Linda is the author of Lost Franklin & Grundy Counties. This book, printed by Iowan Books, details the named locations within each county. Have you heard of Benjamin or Jefferson in Franklin County? Do you know where Shobe’s Grove was located? There were over 20 post offices that aren’t functioning any longer. If you have any connection to these counties, you will love this book. She has also written six other Lost Books, as well as Prohibition in Eastern Iowa and The Cedar Valley Road. Linda will have copies of her books available for purchase. This is your last chance to get a signed copy before Christmas.

Linda is also researching in Floyd and Cerro Gordo in her Lost series, as well as working on a history of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) camps and projects in eastern Iowa. She would love to speak with anyone with memories or pictures that could be included in the book.
