Susan Schultz of Haverhill won first place and a $150 cash award in the Iowa’s Best Peanut Brittle competition, judged Friday at the 2015 Iowa State Fair.

Phil Dicks of Grundy Center claimed second place and $75. Molly Thomas of Centerville earned third place and $25.

Judges awarded Honorable Mention to Marna Denny of Runnells.

Entries were judged on taste and texture.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 228 divisions, 850 classes and over 10,600 entries at this year’s Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Wells Blue Bunny.
