Transportation improvement programs

The Black Hawk County Metropolitan Area Transportation Policy Board (MPO) and Iowa Northland Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) will be holding joint public input open houses on their draft Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) this month. The TIPs contain a listing of transportation projects slated to receive federal funding in the next four federal fiscal years in Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, and Grundy Counties. A map showing projects and the full draft documents are available at www.inrcog.org. The public is encouraged to view and comment on the TIPs before they are finalized.

There will be three public input meetings held. Meetings will be in an open house format, with no formal presentation. Staff from INRCOG will be available to answer questions and discuss projects. The open houses will be held:

Following the public meetings, comments will be accepted on the Draft TIPs until the MPO and RTA hold public hearings and consider adoption of final versions of the documents at their July meetings. The public hearing for the MPO will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015. The public hearing for the RTA will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015. Both public hearings will be at INRCOG, 229 E. Park Ave. in Waterloo.
