IOWA FALLS The Ellsworth Community College baseball team has been named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for 2011-2012; the players had a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.16.

“This award measures the long-term academic success of an athletic program, because all credits earned over each student-athlete’s career are used to calculate the team GPA,” explains Paul Eberhardt, ECC Athletic Director and Dean of Students. “We congratulate Coach Nate Forsyth, the rest of the baseball staff and, most importantly, the student-athletes for their dedication to their studies as well as to their sport. They’ve set a great example for the rest of our student-athletes.”
