The Grundy Center Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a number of events in Grundy Center to celebrate Mother’s Day. The weekend kicks of on Thursday, May 10 5:00-7:30 p.m. with The Other Band performing live until 7:30 p.m. at the Grundy County Courthouse Gazebo.

The Whispering Moose will also be on hand to sell some of their quality meat products. So you’ll want to come with your bellies empty! Members of the Grundy Center High School Band will be giving a demonstration as part of their fundraising efforts for new percussion instruments.

There will also be reading some of the entries from the “Why My Mom is So Great” contest, with a drawing for a Mother’s Day Basket made up of products and services from Grundy Center Chamber businesses.

Local businesses will be featuring various promotions. Stores will have extended hours on Thursday as well.

To help Mom have a day to herself to shop or relax at home, the Chamber will also be sponsoring a Matinee at the Center Theatre stay tuned as to which family movie will be featured!

Little Prairie Girl Barn Sale will be open once again for you to shop for vintage, antique and uncommon finds! Visit the Little Prairie Girl Barn Sale Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 at 20428 160th Street (just a few short miles west of The Mill).
