GCMH Foundation’s scholarship lunch & card party

Ann Rae Billerbeck, Ardith Reinking, Pat Conrad and Mary Lynch enjoying the GCMH Foundation Card Party.

The luncheon and card party to benefit the Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) Foundation’s Scholarship fund was a successful afternoon of socializing and competition.

Eighty women attended the event at Oakleaf Country Club and raised over $1,800 for GCMH Foundation Scholarships. A presentation was given by a GCMH Foundation Scholarship recipient, Allison Schoolman, RN, on the benefits the scholarship brings to recipients. Attendees enjoyed lunch provided by GCMH’s Chef Woody and an afternoon of competitive card playing. Prizes, sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred in Reinbeck, were awarded for the top two places in Bridge, 500, and Pepper.

Proceeds from the event benefit the GCMH Foundation Health Careers Scholarships. Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2012-2013 school year. Scholarship applications are due to the Foundation by May 31, 2012.
