Hawkeye Community College announces opportunities to learn new skills
WATERLOO-Hawkeye Community College is currently offering many new continuing education classes to the community. Interested participants will be pleasantly surprised at the February June lineup of classes. The classes are open to all individuals and range from just an hour or so to several hours over several days. There are a wide range of topics including computers, gardening, financial planning, health and wellness, and cooking just to name a few. Exploring Google+, Extreme Couponing, iPad: Beyond the Basics, Paper Crafting, Basic Dog Obedience, and Introduction to Genealogy are some of the many new classes.
Additionally, there are many classes for those working in various professions who want to advance their careers and gain more knowledge in specific areas such as supervision, management, computers, transportation, quality and lean, plumbing, and HVAC. Some of the new courses include Polish Your Presentation Skills, The Leadership Challenge: Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, QuickBooks for Contractors and Building a Winning Wellness Plan on a Budget.
Many new Learning with Lunch sessions are also available. These classes run 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Learning with Lunch classes are set up to teach participants numerous skills as well as offer a personal enrichment balance and include new topics such as Making Generation Gaps Work, Global Diversity in the Cedar Valley, Stop Procrastinating, Working Remotely, Setting and Reaching Your Goals, Designing Employees Health and Wellness Plans, and many more.
