The Garwin Modern Homemakers met October 11 at the Carlton Brethren Church for a pot luck dinner with Kathy and Beverly as hostesses. The business meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Darlene had roll call-first reading about “superstitions”-then “October is a lucky month.” Eleven members answered by telling “What day of the week we were married?” and also any previous nicknames we had. Election of officers for 2017 was held, Elaine Upah, President; Ethel Lucht, Vice-President; and Donna Tichy as Secretary-Treasurer. names were drawn for the Christmas gift exchange to be held at O’Hungry’s. The November meeting will be at Judy Bean’s. Beverly read us some interesting articles, “Wonder Years”-I’m fine and Thanksgiving Dinner and she gave review of past members. Ethel Lucht
