Poppy Day
Members of the Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary distributed poppies in Gladbrook and Lincoln on Wed., May 11th. This is their favorite project of the year as all the proceeds go to help veterans and their families. Eight Juniors and six adults collected $425. The Juniors were thrilled to pick out a colorful cloth bag that was made by Gladbrook Auxiliary member, Martha Gamble. The bags were used to carry their poppies and containers in. Treats after school was furnished by Kathy Vavroch and Jeanne Paustian. The girls were treated to a supper hosted by Auxiliary members Trudi Scott and Martha Gamble after they finished their territory. Adults helping the girls were Poppy Chairman Jodi Betts, Malinda Eggers, Kathy Vavroch, Sherry Scarf, Sherry Smith, and Leader Jeanne Paustian. Juniors helping were: Front Row: Sydney Vavroch, Carlee Smith, and Alaney Sienknecht. Back Row: Adelyn Sienknecht, Stella Betts, Kayla Vavroch, Emma McClintoch, and Madisyn Eggers. Members of the Gladbrook Legion Auxiliary distributed poppies on Gladbrook Main Street and Caseys Fri., May 13th.. The Auxiliary would like to thank all the businesses for the courtesies extended to the members. All proceeds from poppy sales go to our veterans and their families.
