The Modern Homemakers met at the home of Joan Bacon on April 12, on a beautiful spring day. Vivian opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes were read and corrected. Roll call, “Your favorite saying”, was answered by 11 members. Darlene informed us the May meeting will be a dinner at “Spanky’s” in Gladbrook at 11:30 a.m. on May 10, with Darlene as hostess. Joan led us in two quizzes-one on Elections and one on Iowa History. Vivian and Beverly won high and Donna and Verna low. Joan served a delicious blueberry desert, coffee, and lemonade.
