Garwin Public Library

Garwin Library News It was great to be able to have the Tama County Librarians meeting at our library. Maryann, our district consultant did an hour trustee training class for our trustees, plus 4 from Elberon and one from Gladbrook. Our mayor, city clerk and jane from the city council also attended. Connie Jackson and Phyllis Konicek got up early and made us all fresh cinnamon rolls, thank you ladies! With the summer reading program coming up I have bought several elementary and teen books for the children to choose from. Get signed up by the first of June. Frances Jackson will have a reading program for the younger children. This program will run for five weeks starting the last Saturday in May and all of June. This will start at 10:30 am an consists of a story time, a craft time, and snack time. I’m sure the kids will love this. I loved it last week when Carl walked in, put his hand to his ear and said “I must have come in the wrong door” referring to it being quiet in there. I reassured him the kids were there, just being quiet for a change. People like to see the kids playing Hangman or Operation in the front and the computers going in the back. Nothing better than the sound of the little girls giggling.
