Our vice-president called the February meeting of the Garwin Roughriders to order at 6:30 p.m. on February 29th. Roll call was taken by answerin “What’s your favorite subject.” There were 15 members present. The Treasurer’s report was read and approved, with Lindsey making the motion, and Wyatt seconding. Our balance is $942.17. Old business was discussed. We discussed the winter carnival, the Des Moines trip that some of our members took, and the FSQA program. In new business, we discussed the pop tab challenge. We need to collect as many pop tabs as possible before fair. We also discussed competing in the communications Share the Fun category as a club at the fair. We decided to try this event and now we need to find a script to use. We also decided to donate $150 to the Marshalltown Iowa Veterans’ home. The motion was made by Stephenie and seconded by Jace. The Community Service committee of Frances, Angel, Rachael, Stephenie, Hallie, and Emilie will decide on how to spend the money and make the donation on our behalf. Our next meeting is March 31 at 7:00. At the time, we will decide if and what date we will go to a hockey game.
