Garwin Library
Garwin Library News Things have gotten crazy busy with all the teens coming in after school for snacks. Some do get books to read and I’ll keep trying to accomplish that with them. I had to get them here first. Stan Niedermann donated a computer in Memorial for Kathy and that brings us nine public computers. Thank you so much Stan, and as I was telling him just the other day they were all going with the increase of town children now old enough to come to the library alone. Pat and I have been busy weeding out over 100 of the old paperbacks and replacing them with used ones that are much newer and in better shape. I have used donations in the can at Pronto for this project and have replaced over 70 books. Thank you to the ones who drop your change in for the library. Ann Jackson donated $50.00 towards the programs I provide for the children, thank you Ann. Jane M. continues to send at least $20.00 a month and I thank you also Jane. I stretch these $ as far as I can. For the person who left a bag of grocery items at the door, I think for the food pantry, but oh well, the kids are going to get rice pudding. It will be my first attempt at this. Patrons are forming a “Friends’ group for the library to help as we continue to grow. Talk to Jill Roberts or me if you would like to join. I have written a grant asking for money to make a usable Memorial garden in the front yard. I will find out if I get the money next month. If you would like to place something, help, or donate to this project let Jill know. I’m thinking hard on what I want out there in memory of my sister. That girl was never without a book and a bag of snacks. Stop in and visit or grab a mop. This is the muddy season. Lola Slingluff, Library Director
