Gladbrook Women’s Club
The Gladbrook Women’s Club held their Christmas Luncheon at the Binford House in Marshalltown Thursday, December 10th with 20 members and two guests attending. A delicious lunch of pork medallion with apple compote, broccoli raisin salad, dinner roll and chocolate brownie dessert was served. Anita Elmore entertained with piano music as members arrived. A short business meeting was held, conducted by President Shirley Young. Vice-president Avriel Koester read a couple of Christmas poems and thanked Anita for her music. The secretary’s minutes from November were dispensed with and the treasurer’s report given. It was announced the Spring Tea will be held April 24, 2016. The winners at the Festival of Trees were announced. Members answered roll call by telling about the brooch or Christmas pin they were wearing. Following adjournment of the meeting, Anita played a rendition of Silent Night and then the members sang several Christmas carols. Avriel concluded the meeting with a Christmas poem.
