The Modern Homemakers met on Tuesday, November 10, at the Garwin Library with Elaine Upah as hostess. Vivian opened the meeting with a patriotic reading. We opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was answered by 11 members telling of family members who have been involved with the armed forces through the years. We are proud of them all. Our Christmas meeting will be a dinner at the “Garwin Bowl” with Vivian and Darlene as hostesses. We will have a gift exchange. A program of the history of the Garwin library was given by Lola Slingluff-from a couple of book shelves in the dentist office to our new beautiful library today. A lunch of brownie and ice cream and coffee was enjoyed by everyone.
