Sixteen members answered roll call, on October 21, 20105, with Carol Mead and Kay Lowry serving. Joyce Bruene had devotions centered around prayer taken from “Our Daily Bread” and “Upper Room” publications. Carolyn Moe had our lesson referring to how Jesus welcomes us to serve others. Rev. Carol opened Carolyn’s lesson with a story about a father and son she had used in her sermon the previous Sunday. Through the scripture of Jesus washing the disciples feet and then the disciples are to wash others. She gave the group a story also showing how to serve and welcome others. We sang and closed with a litany. June opened the business meeting. Pauline took roll call and read the September 16 meeting minutes. One correction was made. Marcy gave the treasurer’s report. In new business: What are your thoughts of afternoon UMW meetings? We had more attendance this time with 16. Nothing else said. Next meeting is November 18 at 9:30 a.m. The Thank Offering will be collected. Diane Mussig and Marcy Knaack will be hostesses. Rev. Carol has the lesson. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
