The October meeting of the Modern Homemakers started off with a potluck dinner at the Carlton Brethren Church. Beverly and Kathy were hostesses, they had the table decorated in fall colors. To start the meeting, Vivian led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Donna’s roll call was “Did you have a favorite place to go on Beggars Night?” Many of us did not go trick-or-treating as a child but told of adult parties we attended. A sin-up sheet for next year’s program book was passed around. We drew names for the December gift exchange. The November meeting will be held at the Garwin Library with Elaine Upah as hostess. Beverly had some humorous readings she presented. Kathy had a quiz. Ethel Lucht, Secretary
