The Gladbrook Women’s Club enjoyed a fun day at Cedar Grove Orchard near Cambridge for their regular meeting October 8th. Upon arriving at the Orchard the ladies went through the gift shop, planning what they were going to purchase. Lunch was enjoyed at the Café after which a short meeting was held on the front porch. The meeting consisted of getting updates on the various committees of Holiday Happenings and how things were progressing. Tickets were handed out to members and they are to be returned by November 2nd. Ticket price is $15. A women’s barbershop quartet known as ‘Midnight Madness’ will be the entertainment. They are part of the Harmony Central Sweet Adeline Chorus from Des Moines. Following the short meeting, everyone enjoyed a hayride through the orchard and our tour director told us how long the Orchard has been in the family and the expansions they have made. Upon returning we were treated to a drink and apple cider donuts. Members did some shopping before they headed home from an enjoyable afternoon.
