Photo by Margaret Thomsen Rev. Robert Doner, Pastor was recognized for his 16 years as Pastor at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. This is the longest pastoral tenure in the history of the church. Rev. Leslie Poeschel served for 15 years. Pastor and Susan Doner and their daughters moved to Gladbrook in the fall of 1999. They had previously lived in Pennsylvania. Pastor Doner is known for his puppet ministry. He has a large collection of many of God’s creatures and he uses them with his Children’s Sermons. Board Co-President Sheresa Lynch introduced a video created by Deb Osborn depicting happenings in the church the last 16 years. A large addition was added to the church and the kitchen totally renovated. A number of special bible studies and events have also been added. Words of appreciation and a gift certificate were presented to Rev. Doner. Pictured are Sheresa Lynch and Rev. Doner.
