Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary
The Gladbrook Juniors met on Sun., Sept. 27thfor their annual family kick-off potluck. The Juniors with the help of the their mothers made Halloween pumpkin favors for the residents of the Iowa Veterans Home. “Operation Christmas Child” is a project that the Auxiliary and Juniors have taken part in the last three years. The Juniors will be bringing items for girls or boys that will fit in a shoe box for ages 2-4, 5-9, and 10-14 to the October meeting. Jeanne will bring the shoe boxes. All the Juniors were excited for the yearly drawing of prizes. Each Junior got to pick out a prize. Emma McClintock received the jar of Halloween candy by guessing the closes number of pieces in the jar. Hostesses for the potluck were Kathy Vavroch , Leslie McClintock, and Jamie Moore. The Juniors won several awards this past year including: first place honors with their participation in Americanism and Music, scrapbook, and handiwork. The Gladbrook Juniors are one of the top Jr. Units in the state. The Juniors next meeting is Sat., Oct. 17th, 9:30, at Westbrook Acres with Jodi Betts , Shanna Goos and Carley Davis in charge. They will be making fall favors for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House.
