AMES, IA — Kyle Warren, of Garwin IA, was selected as one of fifty-seven interns from a nation-wide pool of agriculture students that are are exploring career opportunities at GROWMARK, Inc.The Agricultural Studies major will be exposed to accounting, marketing, communications, and product and service-related activities. Warren joined a group of seven Iowa State University students from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences who attended an orientation program at the GROWMARK corporate office in May and an agribusiness tour in June. Each intern completes a special project and delivers a presentation on that project in August. According to Allison Stephey, GROWMARK university relations manager, “The program continues to be a key component in identifying and retaining top talent into the GROWMARK system. Students engage with industry professionals on important projects and have the opportunity to clarify career goals; while we get exposed to the most talented university students.” Internship opportunities such as the ones offered by GROWMARK are an important reason why Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has a 98% career placement rate.
