The descendants of the Henry and Minnie Goettsch family met for a family reunion, Sunday, July 19, 2015. Twenty-two attended at the Gladbrook Memorial Building in Gladbrook, iowa. The family of Laura Goettsch Sienknecht hosted the event. After a bountiful potluck dinner, introductions and family news was given by those in attendance. Noteworthy was the passing of Eldon Wiese at the age of 100 years young, and Mark A. Dahms, age 52, the son of Roger Dahms of Kansas City, Mo. Attending from the Harry Goettsch family was Cecil Goettsch and Jeryl and Bill Mawe, all of Clive, IA., and Mark and Lynn Mawe of Grinnell, IA. The Clara Goettsch Wiese family in attendance was Dorothy Wiese, Gladbrook, IA. Loren and Karen Larson of Ames, IA., and Doug and Sandy Koester, of Davenport, IA. Also Carma Wiese of Marion, IA. Laura Goettsch Sienknecht family members were Jim and Janice Zwyers, St. Peter, MO., who came the farthest; Terry and Joan Haverly, of Anamosa, IA; Bob and Alice Sienknecht, of Dunkerton, IA; David and Jeanie Burt, Conrad, IA; and Michael Burt, Savage, MN. Next years reunion will be hosted by the Harry Goettsch family. Several people visited Matchstick Marvels after the reunion.
