Gladbrook High School Class of 1965

The Gladbrook High School Class of 1965 held their fifty year reunion at the Union Grove Lake Youth Center on Saturday, June 27. Social time started at 4 p.m. with a delicious dinner catered by Linda Schneider at 6:30 p.m. A surprise visitor “the old lady” dropped in during social time and shared some of the things that have happened to her as she has gotten older. Most of us could relate. She ended by singing her theme song “Some of My Favorite Things”. Following dinner we played Class Trivia. A letter from Randy McMahill, a former classmate, was read. Books were passed out to each classmate. Class members attending were: Mark and Marty Kogle, Puyailup, Washington; Ryan Tessau. Greensboro, North Carolina; Jim Costello, Edmond, West Virginia; Carol Froistad, Madison, Wisconsin; Randy and Sarah (Lorenz) Kingery, Peoria, Illinois; Bob and Caroline (Schmitz) Dalton, Chatham, Illinois; Duane and Barb Beichley, Linn Creek, Missouri; Klaus and Marla (Koester) Jarr, Overland Park, Kansas; Samm and Linda Skare, Leawood, Kansas; Dave and Pat Mundt, Neola; Chuck and Julie (Schulz) Hall, Ankeny; Loyd and Ruth (Wiebensohn) Carstensen, Montezuma; Gary and Sue Speicher, Cedar Rapids; Denise (Bruene) Baker, Bettendorf; Rod and Dawn Lorenz, Bob and Bonnie (Bern) Murty, Traer; Donita (Billerbeck) Sheldon, Shirley (Frericks) Thomas, John and Barb Halverson, Marshalltown; Richard and June (Eilers) Klinefelter, Larry and Karen (Koester) Pieper, Sandi Pappas, Steve Baumeier, Jack and Jane Sass all of Gladbrook. Also attending were Don and Mary Maze of Marshalltown. Twenty classmates road on a float in the Corn Carnival Parade on Friday night.
