Garwin Public Library-Good News From the Garwin Library

Our spring fundraiser went great, we raised $780.00 and leftover items went to the homeless. Two great caused taken care of by the wonderful people of our community. Our “Summer Reading Program” started June 1st and will run until the middle of July. Kids can still get in on this, even if you don’t read the most pages you may attend the pizza party if you read a book. We have several new DVD’s and “Wild” is one of them. We always have lots of new books and magazines also. I purchased a craft cart and Megan organized that and will teach the kids to make friendship bracelets and other crafts. Sometimes she does the girls’ hair. Jazmin does great hand-drawn tattoos for the kids. We cook when I have time to supervise and the girls are learning a few things. Izaiha thinks he’s a pro already. Our library provides a place for the children to gather and learn friendship and sharing as well as reading and computer skills. I am so glad our town supports this endeavor that I have undertaken. i do think the kids will always remember the Garwin Library. Lola Slingluff, Library Director
