Principal Study to Retire

At a special meeting of the Gladbrook-Reinbeck School Board Monday evening, Supt. Tim Kuehl shared with the board a letter from High School Principal Mike Studt requesting to retire at the end of the 2008-09 school year. The board accepted his request and approved a one-time payment of $7,500.

The board committed to an additional $5,000, subject to the City of Reinbeck match of $5,000, for additional architect design and estimate fees. Chris Frischmeyer, representing the G-R Daycare (Reinbeck) updated the board on the latest design and cost estimates. They are currently working on revising the plans. This makes a total of $15,000 committed to the project to date. Work on the 28E agreement will begin this week.

A special education contract with Loess Hills AEA 13 and contracted services for regular education with the Des Moines Community School District were approved. There are G-R students in each of the two places.

Deanna Spear was issued a special education driver contract to drive to the Grundy Center Preschool.

Because of time constraints, the board agreed to have the building and grounds committee proceed with finalizing the plans for the concession/restroom building at the football field.
