G-R cross country

Emily Johnson runs in a pack up the hills of Pine Lakes Golf Course in Eldora.

This past week the GR Cross Country team traveled to Jesup on Tuesday and participated in one of the larger meets of the year. Unfortunately for the Rebels, injury and illness struck once again. The season has had its share of ups and downs in this category.

The girls team had nice showings from Megan Oelschlager and Nicole Adair. They both ran their best races of the year. Meg Edler also ran well for the Rebels.

On Saturday, the GR harriers ran at Eldora. The Pine Lakes Golf Course was the setting for the meet, and is one of the more challenging courses on the season. Again, we had beautiful weather and great competition.

Meg Edler led the Rebels on the girl’s side (53rd place). She is continues to improve and is having a nice season. Tyler Bovy was the leader on the boys side (32nd place). He is running stronger and stronger each time out on the course.

We will get better and stronger from our experiences at Jesup and South Hardin. Both meets were a extremely competitive field and featured some of the top runners in the state. Hopefully, we will get healthier and finish the season on a strong note.
