Ronald G. Jacobs, 77, of Traer, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, after a short illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Overton Funeral Home at Traer. Military Rites were conducted by the Traer American Legion. Burial was in Buckingham Cemetery. Jacobs was born November 16, 1933 near Traer, Iowa: the son of Leonard and Luella Schmidt Jacobs. He graduated from Dinsdale High School with the class of 1951. Ronald served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Delores D. McConnell on February 4, 1962 in Preston, Minnesota. He was employed at John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Ronald enjoyed sudoko and crossword puzzles, playing with his grandkids, tinkering and after retirement, visiting casinos. Ronald passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, surrounded by his wife and family, at Allen Memorial Hospital at the age of 77, from a short illness. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son Steve Jacobs and a sister Wanda Turner. Ronald is survived by his wife Delores of Traer, 2 sons: Joe (Paula) and Daron (Cathy), both of Traer; a daughter Deb Jacobs (Kendall Siems) of Cedar Falls; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a daughter-in-law Sandy Jacobs of Traer; a sister Joanne (Jim) Schrier of Hudson and a brother-in-law Amos Turner of Waterloo.
