Dorothy Lynch, 94, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, February 20, 2011, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 23, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow services at the Chapel Hill Cemetery near Gladbrook. Visitation for Dorothy will be held from 5:00 P.M. ˆ 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 22, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Brothers & Stella (Drury) Brothers at rural Garwin, Iowa, in Tama County on September 13, 1916. She attended country school in Marshall County and graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1934. Dorothy was married to Newell (Dude) Lynch on June 12, 1937, at Waterloo, Iowa. They resided at Route #5, Marshalltown all of their married lives. Dorothy had three daughters: Joline, Karmen and Kristi. She was a homemaker and great cookie maker. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and dancing. Dorothy is survived by her sister Shirley Naylor of LeGrand and her three daughters: Joline Lear of Seattle, Washington, Karmen Betts of Beaman and Kristi Lynch (Donita Hermsen) of Coralville, her four grandchildren: Tony Betts of rural Marshalltown, Nick (Jodi) Betts of Gladbrook, Ashley Morris of Santa Monica, California, Elliott Lear of SunValley California, her three great-grandchildren: Kayla Betts of Conrad, Kelly (Nate) Karr of Bremerton, Washington and Stella Betts of Gladbrook, Iowa. In death she has rejoined her parents, her husband Newell Lynch, her brothers: Gerald and Walter Brothers and her sister Helen Earhart.
