Helen C. Tow

Helen C. Tow, 63, died October 7, 2010. Services were held Saturday, October 9, 2010, at the Zion Lutheran Church at Ruthven, Iowa, with Rev. Luther Thoresen officiating. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Depew, Iowa. Arrangements by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home. Helen C. Tow, daughter of Bernard and Louise (Dilly) Venenga, was born February 7, 1947, in Wellsburg, Iowa, Shiloh Township. She received her education in the Wellsburg and BCL Schools. Helen was united in marriage to Norman Tow. They farmed for many years together and Helen also did domestic work, cleaning for other families in the area. Helen loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing in area lakes. She also liked to go pheasant and deer hunting. Helen passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa at the age of 63. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Norman. She is survived by her son, Allen Venenga and his wife, Pam of Gladbrook, Iowa; two step grandchildren, Amy and Brandon; a brother, B. Gene Venenga and his wife, Janet of Parkersburg, Iowa; two sisters, DeAnna Cmelik of Cherokee, Iowa and Sandi Duncan and her husband, Art of Clemons, Iowa.; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
