Marilyn Svoboda candidate for Tama County Recorder

The Tama County Democratic Party has nominated Marilyn Svoboda of Clutier as their candidate for Tama County Recorder. The nomination occurred at a special convention held August 11, 2010 at the Tama Civic Center. “We are very pleased to have Marilyn on the ballot this fall,” commented Tama County Democratic Party chairperson, Dori Rammelsberg-Dvorak. “She brings a wealth of customer service experience which will be invaluable in the position of Tama County Recorder.” Svoboda, life-long Tama County resident, is a graduate of North Tama Community Schools. She and her husband John live on the family farm west of Clutier. The Svobodas have four children, Jacqueline (Mike) Chambers, Christopher (Mel), Daniel and Charles and three grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney Chambers and Addisyn Svoboda. They are active in the Prince of Peace Parish Cluster. Marilyn has been employed at several Tama County businesses including Traer Super Valu, Coast-to-Coast, Dwights, Pioneer Hi-Bred, and Tama-Benton Co-op. She has also worked at Herberger’s, Amana Refrigeration and Traer Manufacturing for 15 years until the closing of the plant. She is also an independent Watkins distributor. Svoboda kicked off her campaign by participating in the Traer Winding Stairs Festival.
